Crafactor produces top-of-the-line furnitures fitting for the W hotel lounge and the like. My pick here is the infinity chair by designer Paiwate Wongbon. The chair is made of rattan — a sustainable natural plant product found all over Thailand. No price but there is an order form on their very hard to navigate website.

one man series - mr.p

Propaganda is the Thai’s answer to innovative home product design that rivals that of Alessi and Koziol. It’s been around for a while now. I remembered having visited their first store in Siam Center very long time ago. Their headline product is “Mr.P”. Mr.P is useful, silly, and provocative all at the same time. Mr.P leaves many people wondering if the Thais have been bitten by that “small pee pee” inferiority complex. (The answer is no, by the way) There’s a lot more to Propaganda now - many of which look rather familiar. You can find a very small selection of Propaganda products at a home store on bleeker street sort of across from the restaurant Risotteria (sorry, the name escapes me). Or all over town in Bangkok.

Happy 2007

Hello World. I’ve been back for a while now but haven’t gotten around to revert to the self that I left behind before the long journey abroad. Ok, so I cheated a bit by not having kept a journal like I should and wrote my entire story out of memory. Truth be told my memory sure got washed away with all the whisky consumed and purged over what I could remember of NYE. Thank goodness for digital camera, eh? Anyhow, back to business.

First change around this hood — I’ve manage to acquire a new engagement which can likely turn into a good side business. To that end, I’m going to reduce the frequency in which I muck around the header graphics on this blog in an attempt to spare more time. Header graphics will now change seasonally (or quarterly depends on if you are a right brainer or left). Yay. This one here is a picture I took of Mount Yotei up in Hokkaido. (*Pats self for doing a good job)

Ok, there’s really just one change. The next few posts will now be about the goodies I drooled over while on vacation. Unfortunately they don’t allow you to take pictures inside of shopping malls and stores in Thailand (paranoia anyone?) so I’m going to do the best I can.
