Dahl

dahl

Ok, so I said I was going away for like half a day and now I’m back. Thanks to my very own personal superman, we sifted through one of the most complicated code I’ve done in ages. (To those who care, I’m working on a flash based 3D rendering of our new product at work, which I’m very proud to be a part of) So that said, now I have time to squeeze in one entry before hitting the sack. For those like me who misses Allison Kelly dearly since her departure from Project Runway (what were the judges thinking?!?!), her very own clothing line - Dahl is going to debut soon this september. No doubt it will be the hottest item in town. Bookmark ShopBop now because that will be the place she’ll launch her line.

In-Lock

inlock

This one is a concept product and isn’t available for purchase (yet). But it has 2 very important features — 1: it is orange and I am attracted to orange gadgets like fly on poo; and 2: it’s a gadget. Ok, maybe that ought to just be one. Anyhow, this cat John Wrightson from UK came up with an idea of locking your bike by chaining it to this little anchor. I don’t think it will serve much purpose in the concrete jungle of NYC, but it sure is one fantastic eye candy. (via the uber cool folks of the cool hunter)

Iconic

The era of wallpaper is back. It’s everywhere. Patterns here, patterns there. Some gloriously beautiful, others can leave your next home buyer questioning your sanity. While I am a big fan of patterny stuff on pillows and other soft goods, I feel an overwhelming sense of commitment when it comes to wall. Which pattern do I love so much that I can commit to? Am I going to like it 5 years from now? Am I going to like it tomorrow?

These B+N wall products are considered love at first sight. Love the uniqueness, the simplicity, and the overall execution. B+N’s motto is to develop fresh, fun, and functional solutions that enhances the environment. They are certainly on spot here with the Iconic wall panels. The panels are made of carved laminated wood, making them durable and versatile to many home and commercial environment. I especially love the helsenki pattern (shown here, price start at $479 per ~4′x8′). More at B+N. Download the pricing and online catalog here.

do it!

Yes, folks, I just launched my friend’s website today. It is a fundraiser for her to join us on a trip to Thailand this winter. She’s an adorable girl who works very hard — but being in the event-planning non-profit industry and living in NYC doesn’t leave much room for saving let alone getting by each day. Far fetched concept, yes. But hey, if people are willing to shell out to save a rabbit, this just might work. What will you get out of it? A - feeling uber good for doing something nice. B - You might be the winner on her souvenir list. and C - she’ll be helping me on the journey to document goodies abroad for you to drool at. Doooo it.

prefab_home

.. I’d love me one (or more) of these uber cool prefab homes. Somewhere along the way I hear from people that prefab homes have a sort of “stigma” around the concept. What exactly that stigma is, I’m not sure. One thing for certain is prefab homes are generally more friendly to the environment. Some say they are cheaper because of fewer labor cost, while others say the saved labor cost is transferred into high tech materials and delivery anyway. If I were ever presented with an opportunity to build or buy a home, I’d definitely build. And I’d definitely go for prefab. What would you do? It’s friday, let’s dream a little dream.
