What is it about the scandinavians that make their design oh-so-mod. This is the Petal Table Runner, designed by Kirsten Fribert of Denmark. It is available with free shipping from Tivoli Home for $56.

Galbraith & Paul

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone do fabric like Galbraith and Paul. Their design and color choices are just simply on spot. I can’t even pick a favorite - love them all. Unfortunately they don’t make any table lamps (I’m in the market for one) but their pendants ($270) are just to-die-for. Selected patterns are also available as throw pillows at Room&Board (price varies). Rugs can also be made (to order). If you are in the Philadelphia area, you can swing by their studio.

Crypton

I’m not sure if all the buzz about this hot new fabric is coincidental to the new release of SuperMan or if it is just a superbly timed marketing strategy. These guys are simply everywhere these days. I think I saw it in Dwell and Wallpaper, maybe Domino too. DWR did this whole pet product promotion - featuring William Wegman line of goodies made from the material. With all that Crypton promises, I think the “icing” on their cake is the endless possibilities of wonderful design married to superb function. No longer are you limited to plain jane when it comes to pet, outdoor, and children goodies. I can see large enterprises like airline companies using something like crypton to upholster the seatings. Perhaps bag companies will jump on the bandwagon too? What about super sleek seating series for the home that is pet resistant? I can see myriads of great fabric designer hopping on board to do exclusive fabric collection already (*drool). Closer to home, someone somewhere (maybe me) will order a few yards and stitch together a uniquely personal casing for their chaise cushion with matching throw pillow. At $14.95 per swatch kit, this is certainly a trial worth exploring. (PS. A lot of their products are not released yet, see their website for more info.
