Akiko Lamp

akiko_lamp

It was love at first sight when i spotted this Akiko Lamp from Habitat London on a business trip. Unfortunately the price tag was way too high for my pocket and given that I was across the pond it wasn’t suitable to lug a giant beautiful thing around. I’m still in love with it. Akiko, one day you shall be mine. 399 Euro. The store, Habitat, is sooo awesome. It’s like a little haven made for me. Too bad it doesn’t exist in the US.

Whitney Smith is a talented ceramic artist. I love how her pieces are inspired by everyday things.. like turnips, dogwood, and pomegranate. Price ranges from $40-$140. Read more about her at her site. Buy her goodies at poppytalk

A chunkier and cheaper alternative to the classic Random Light ($778-$860), this earthy copycat is a lot gentler on the pocket ($79-$129). Abaca pendant available at West Elm, conversion kit sold separately.

Lovely little bird vases from Three Potato Four. Left is the Talking Sparrow ($35) and right is the Pigeon vases ($60) - both handmade by artist J. Mendicino. The whimsical appeal work really well with Perch! ceramics.

Need more privacy but can’t live without sunlight? Get Breeze Blocks. Brilliant little blocks of translucent stickers that obscure just enough to make out the silhouette of nakedness while keeping the identity of your inner-exhibitionist at bay. 21 Euros from Atypyk.

Green Pillows

green_pillows

In the mood for green? This summer there are plenty of green pillow to scratch your itch. Hable Construction carries these: moss palm wool felt applique ($265), green beans linen ($95), ivory/moss algae wool felt applique ($135). Second row are twenty2 montague ($115-$125), judy ross clover ($190), and judy ross procession ($190).

Ps. As much as I love pillows, I have yet to convince myself to spend more than $20/pillow. Such is life with doggies. *sigh.

CB2 Crazy Linen Hamper

cb2_hamper

Just got the tall one ($79.95) to tuck neatly into the corner of our foyer as our new and improved recycling bin. I’m so done with the ugly blue bin. I’ve written a post before about the nifty idea of using hamper as recycling bins but haven’t found a decent one to go with our stuff until today. I like the linen cover and the dark gray works well. Little double stitching takes it from plain jane to cool jane. Yay. I guess it pays to wait. Inevitably some day someone will come up with exactly what you want.

Branch Lamps

The new Branch Lamps at west elm are so adorable. They remind me of a sparser version of the exquisite Soleau Forest and Shade antler lamp ($1000) but way more affordable. Table version at $79 and Floor version at $199.
